South Korea’s Park Taejun is a wonder in Taekwondo. He became the world champion at the age of 18. Olympic champion at the age of 20! He also won a gold medal. In the ongoing Paris Olympics, he won gold in the 58 kg category.
South Korea’s Park Taejun had a 9-0 first-round lead against Azerbaijan’s Ghasim Magomedov in the boys’ 58kg final on Thursday (August 8). Magomedov (silver medalist) pulled out of the match in the second round while Taejun led 13-1. Bronze went to Cyrian Ravet of France and Mohamed Khalil Jendoubi of Tunisia.
At the end of the twelfth day, the United States is still on top in gold and total medals. The Americans have a total of 94 medals, including the most 27 golds. China is competing strongly with two golds less. Athletes from both countries won three golds on Wednesday.

Athletes from the United States have always dominated on the track. Quincy Hall was no exception in the boys’ 400m sprint on the twelfth day of the Games on Wednesday. Trailing by three at the end of the race, the American athlete crossed the finish line first. Hall also set the fifth best timing in history with a time of 43.40 seconds.
China also won gold in team event in artistic swimming. It was their first medal in the event in 20 years, beating the USA. China is second on the medal list with 25 golds compared to the USA’s maximum of 27 golds. Australia is third as usual with 18 golds.
