Xavi Hernandez, Barcelona Manager responds to rumours of his exit from Barcelona. He insists there is no indication of his departure from the club.
Xavi is understood to have frustrated club president Joan Laporta with recent comments about the club’s transfer strategy and inability to compete with Real Madrid, hence reports said Xavi will be sacked for clashing with President Laporta.
“I am in permanent contact with the president Kaporta and if we have to talk, we will talk. Everything is like three weeks ago when we announced my continuity. If there is any change, we will tell you. We haven’t talked about anything.” he told the reporters.
He also made it clear that he will stay at the Barca dugout. “There is no doubt that things can go well with me as a coach. Next year, we can compete better than this one. My desire, enthusiasm and ambition are intact” he said.
However, with Xavi’s regime, Barcelona is having a trophyless season; they reached the quarter-final of the UEFA Champions League, but lost to France’s side PSG in the second leg.
