‘It would almost be the biggest job in cricket to be the head coach of the Indian cricket team.’ Former Australian Head Coach Justin Langer said.

The BCCI is looking for fresh applications for the Indian national team head coach. They set a deadline for the coaching post applications to be submitted by 6 PM IST on May 27, 2024.

The selection process will include a thorough review of applications, followed by personal interviews and assessments of shortlisted candidates. However, the BCCI set a standard of the candidate’s qualifications.

The candidate should have played a minimum of 30 Test Matches or 50 ODI’s; or head coach of a full member Test Playing Nation, for a minimum period of 2 years; or head Coach of an Associate member or IPL Team or Equivalent International League/First Class Teams/ National A teams, for a minimum period of 3 years; or should have BCCI Level 3 Certification or equivalent; and must be below 60 years of age.

Former Australian head coach Justin Langer explains why it is difficult to become Indian Cricket team head coach. ‘One, because of the huge volume of cricket, the huge expectation. It would be a great challenge. It would be great fun and it would be a wonderful opportunity to win ICC titles. It is a high-pressure job like coaching the Indian team.’ Justin Langer said.
