The 11th season of the Bangladesh Premier League has begun. Last year’s champion Fortune Barisal won the first match of the season. Tamim had to sweat a lot to defeat Durbar Rajshahi, who are known as a weak team.

Barisal won the toss and sent Rajshahi into bat in the first match of the day at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur. Rajshahi scored an innings of nearly two hundred runs with a 140-run partnership between Anamul Haque Bijoy and Yasir Ali.

Rajshahi scored 197 runs for the loss of 3 wickets after 20 overs. Bijay returned with 65 runs from 51 balls, but Yasir remained unbeaten on 94 runs from 47 balls. Ryan Burl scored 9 and Harris scored 13 runs. For Barisal, Kylie Myers took 2 wickets and Faheem Ashraf took one.

Mushfiqur has broken the record for most dismissals by a wicketkeeper (19) in T20s for Barisal, going past Nurul Hasan’s 18. Mahmudullah and Faheem Ashraf’s 88-run partnership is Barisal’s highest for the 7th wicket in T20s, breaking the record of 50 between Salman and Karim Janat.

Chasing a target of 198 runs, the start was not good. However, Tamim’s team left the field with a victory, relying on the batting of experienced Mahmudullah and Fahim Ashraf. The two made a partnership of 88 runs. Earlier, Mahmudullah made a partnership of 61 runs with Shaheen Shah.

Mahmudullah remained unbeaten on 56 off 26 balls and Fahim on 54 off 21 balls. The last year’s champions started the tournament by winning the match by 4 wickets with 11 balls remaining. Mahmudullah was adjudged the man of the match.
