Why doesn’t Ronaldo have tattoos?
The familiar question of every football supporter is to retain their heart. Ronaldo himself answered this question in 2012. he told the Italian newspaper Diretta that he doesn’t have tattoos because he donates blood regularly.
Reports from Spanish media reveal that Ronaldo underwent heart surgery when he was just 14 years old, and that experience made him aware of the significant need for blood in hospitals. Since then, he has been inspired to donate blood and has never allowed a tattoo needle to touch his skin. This is because those who have a tattoo, cannot donate blood for a year.
Ronaldo has been a regular blood donor since he was 24. His first blood donation was to help his national teammate Carlos Martins’ child, who needed blood. Since then, Ronaldo has donated blood at least twice a year.
In an interview with a Spanish radio station, Ronaldo recalled the incident: “It was a time when Carlos Martins was playing with us on the national team. One day, he shared with us that his child had a blood problem. We, as players, came together to support him and donated blood. We knew it was a difficult time for him.”
Furthermore, Ronaldo doesn’t just donate blood himself; he frequently encourages his fans on social media to donate blood as well to raise global support for blood donations.
