England hired Manchester City psychologist David Young for their T20 World Cup mission. He helps the English Players to be more mentally strong when they feel pressure in World Cup matches.

David Young has worked with Man City, which showed incredible success in the last couple of seasons, winning four premier leagues in a row, David was one of the main characters behind the team’s success.

David also worked with the England Cricket team from 2016 to 2020. Jos Buttler admitted that he helped him play a wonderful innings in the 2019 World Cup final, hosted by England.

Young joined the England team before the first T20 against Pakistan, which washed out due to rain. He continues with the team in the second match at Cardiff on Monday.

“It’s always good to have someone who’s a little bit removed from the squad to make sure you’re landing your messages… He’s still doing other roles but we’ve got him for this series, and the start of the World Cup as well.” England Head Coach Matthew Mott said.

England announced a provisional squad for the T20 World Cup, but they will have to finalise the squad before May 25. Jofra Archer returned to England’s side after 382 days, providing huge support in the bowling unit as they also have other three front-line bowlers Mark Wood, Reece Topley and Chris Jordan.
