The Football Association(FA) wants a lifetime ban on English Premier League Club West Ham and Brazilian Midfielder Lucas Paqueta for alleged betting breaches, as claimed by The Sun.
Paqueta was accused of picking up yellow cards deliberately in four Premier League West Ham matches, against Leicester City, Aston Villa, Leeds and Bournemouth.
Around 60 people are reported to have placed bets on Paqueta Island off the coast of Rio de Janeiro, with stakes ranging from £7 to £400, leading to combined winnings of £100,000.
Lucas Paqueta has been charged with misconduct about alleged breaches of FA rules E5 and F3.
The E5 is “It’s alleged that he directly sought to influence the progress, conduct, or any other aspect of, or occurrence in these matches by intentionally seeking to receive a card from the referee for the improper purpose of affecting the betting market for one or more persons to profit from betting.”
He has also been charged with two breaches of FA Rule F3 in respect of alleged failures to comply pursuant to FA Rule F2.
”The player has until 03 June 2024 to respond to these charges subject to any request for an extension to this deadline. The FA will be making no further comment until the conclusion of this case.”

The Brazilian Midfielder denied all charges against him by saying ‘Extremely surprised and upset.’ Former Stratford Town defender Kynan Isaac was once 10-year banned from football in 2022 after he was found guilty of receiving a deliberate booking on which his friends had placed bets.
