It’s the third time that Mumbai Indians failed to maintain a minimum over rate in this season of IPL. Hence, MI Captain Hardik Pandya has been banned for a slow over-rate against Lucknow Super Giants at Wankhede.
This means Hardik will not attend the first match of the next IPL, as Mumbai Indians completed their 14 matches this season.
He has also been fined INR 30 Lakhs of the match fee. Apart from Pandya, the rest of the playing XII, including impact players have been fined INR 12 Lakhs of the match fee, which was against KL Rahul’s side Lucknow Super Giants.
Mumbai Indians had a disastrous season, throughout the 14 matches, they won only 4 while losing the other 10 matches this season, and found their place at the bottom of the points table.
Mumbai Captain, Hardik Pandya was not good with both bat and bowl. He scored 216 runs at an average of 18.00 and a strike rate of 143.04. With the ball, he took 11 wickets at a huge economy of 10.75.
Hardik, who had taken the captaincy over Rohit Sharma, was booed by the fans when he played on the ground throughout the tournament. This affects their performances on and off the field.
