Pakistan again produced unpredictable Pakistan’s things at Nassau County Cricket Stadium. They were well ahead when opening their innings but failed to hold their nerve in the end which resulted in a 6-run loss against India.
The Rohit Sharma-led side suffered a mid-innings collapse on a two-paced track to be all out for an underwhelming 119 in 19 overs despite a gutsy effort from Rishabh Pant (42 off 31 balls) after being put into bat under pressure.
Pakistan bowled so wonderfully as their four bowlers contributed to stopping India’s innings to just 119 runs. Mohammad Amir, Haris Rauf and Naseem Shah were excellent with the ball. Naseem and Haris both picked up three wickets while Amir managed two wickets for 23 runs.
Chasing a target of 120, Pakistan were solidly put at 73 for 3 in 12.1 overs, needing run-a-ball 47, but Bumrah turned the game on its head with some sensational bowling. He finished with figures of 3 for 14 in four overs, playing a key role in stopping Pakistan at 113 for 7 in 20 overs.

Unlike ODIs and Tests, India have met only 13 times in T20 international cricket, with India winning ten of them and Pakistan managing three. In T20 World Cups, India has won seven matches and Pakistan made it once, their last win coming back in the 2021 edition in Dubai, where Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan successfully chased Indain’s 151 totals. India defeated Pakistan the last time when they met in the T20 World Cup — in Nassau County Cricket Stadium, New York. India won four of their last five matches against Pakistan.
