Injured Shoriful is doubtful for Bangladesh’s opening match against Sri Lanka, scheduled in Dallas on June 7. The left-arm pacer received six stitches on his left hand after suffering an injury during the warm-up match against India in New York on Saturday, as the team lost the match by 60 runs.
Shorful is one of the most regular performers in the Bangladesh pace unit. He took three wickets against the USA as Bangladesh lost the series by 2-1. Shoriful also carried his form during the warm-up match against India in New York, giving away 26 runs for one wicket in his 3.5 overs but he could not complete his four overs quota as the pacer got injured on his left palm.
Shoriful got injured when the Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya hit a yorker ball straight back at the pacer. Later, Shoriful was taken out immediately from the ground and found six stitches between the palm and index finger.

The Bangladesh Cricket Board is yet to announce anything official about Shoriful’s injury. If Shorful fails to recover from injury, it will be a huge blow for the Bangladesh team as he misses some matches and the opening match as well.
Bangladesh carried Hasan Mahmud as a travelling reserve for Taskin’s uncertainty but he will be fit in time ahead of Bangladesh’s opening match against Sri Lanka. If Shoriful fails to back the team, Hasan Mahmud will be named in the squad in place of Shoriful Islam.
