Bangladesh’s Under-19 team etched their name in history by claiming their first-ever ACC Under-19 Asia Cup title, delivering a resounding performance that saw them triumph over the UAE by a staggering 195 runs in the final at the Dubai International Stadium.

The standout hero of the match was Ashiqur Rahman Shibli, whose exceptional century propelled Bangladesh to a formidable total of 282-8 in their allotted 50 overs.

Shibli’s remarkable knock of 129 runs off 149 deliveries set the tone for Bangladesh’s dominance, well-supported by contributions from Chowdhury Mohammad Rizwan and Ariful Islam, who both notched crucial half-centuries.

In response, the Bangladesh bowlers showcased remarkable prowess, tearing through the UAE’s lineup, restricting them to a mere 87 runs in just 24.5 overs. This stellar collective bowling effort ensured an emphatic victory for Bangladesh.

This remarkable achievement for the Bangladesh U19 team holds immense significance, as they added another accolade to their storied cricketing journey, securing a title that had eluded them in previous tournaments. Shibli’s stellar form throughout the tournament, culminating in being the highest run-scorer with an impressive tally of 378 runs across five innings, underscored Bangladesh’s dominance in the competition. Notably, pacer Ayan Ahamed emerged as a standout performer for the UAE with figures of 2-41.
