Ireland’s current Head coach Heinrich Malan and South Africa’s Paul Adams are among the three candidates shortlisted by the Bangladesh Cricket Board(BCB) for the High Performance(HP) coaching role.
BCB is looking for a David Hemp replacement, who recently joined as batting coach of the Bangladesh national cricket team. Apart from Heinrich Malan and Paul Adams, BCB is also considering two other names, Gavan Twining (Australia) and Nathan Hauritz (Australia) who are shortlisted by BCB.
“We will take the interview of the shortlisted coaches for the HP unit head in the coming week,” BCB HP Unit chairman Naimur Rahman said.
Heinrich Malan is a big name among other candidates. However, he will not be available from the start of the HP camp, which is scheduled to start in the middle of May.
As the Head coach of the Ireland Cricket team, he will guide them in the upcoming T20 World Cup, which will be held in the USA and West Indies in June. So it will be interesting if BCB is going to hire him despite his absence from the start of the HP camp.
