The Lanka Premier League(LPL) team Dambulla Franchise has got new ownership after the former co-owner Tamim Rahman was arrested by Sri Lanka police under the Prevention of Offences Related to Sports Act.
Sri Lanka Cricket announced that the ownership has been taken by an engineering consulting firm called Sequoia Consultants based in Los Angeles. The ownership will be run by a local company named DeSilva Holdings, the owner of DeSilva Holdings company is Priyanga De Silva, who has experience in working with Sri Lanka Cricket.
The franchise also gets a new name from Dambulla Thunders to Dambulla Sixers. Despite the change in ownership and name, the players of the team will play, meaning Bangladesh Pacer Mustafizur Rahman, who was picked as direct signing player, will play for Dambulla Sixers in the next season of the Lanka Premier League(LPL)

Besides, They picked Afgan’s opener Ibrahim Zadran, Dilshan Madushanka, Nuwan Thusara, Praveen Jayawickrama and Dushan Hemantha, while they also picked some foreign and local names from the auction.
Hasan Ali, Ben McDermott, Avishka Fernando, Kusal Mendis, Noor Ahmad, Dhananjaya De Silva, Hayden Kerr, Matthew Wade and many more were included in the Dambulla Sixers.
The fifth edition of the tournament is scheduled to start after the T20 World Cup on July 1 and will be played by five teams in three cities, Pallekele, Dambulla and Colombo.
