Saurabh Netravalkar: An oracle Engineer who stunned Pakistan

Saurabh Netrvalkar made headlines in the Cricket world as he stunned Pakistan in a Group A clash in the T20 World Cup 2024. Netravalkar showed a heroic performance with the ball as his team beat Pakistan in a Super Over in the T20 World Cup.

The 32-year-old pacer made attention in a three-match T20 series against Bangladesh, where the USA secured their historical series victory over Bangladesh, which was the first time to beat a Test-playing nation. Netravalkar was a solid performer as he took three wickets in two matches.

The USA team has written another historical victory over Pakistan in the T20 World Cup, Saurabh Netravalkar was one of the main characters behind the USA’s success. He troubled Pakistan batters with his disciplined line and length throughout his four-over spell in the match while achieving figures of 2/18 in his four-over spell, but Netravalkar stunned Pakistan by defending 18 runs in the Super Over against the hard-hitting trio of Shadab Khan, Iftikhar Ahmed and Fakhar Zaman, he only conceded 13 runs in that over.

The Mumbai-born Saurabh Netravalkar was heavily involved in Indian Cricket. He played with KL Rahul, Mayank Agarwal, Jaydev Unadkat, Harshal Patel and Sandeep Sharma in the U-19 Cricket World Cup 2010,  he could have been the biggest name in Indian Cricket but later his talent was ignored.

The talented man balanced Coding and Cricket with the same hand as he graduated from Computer Science at Mumbai University. After graduation, he left India for the USA and Netravalkar was admitted to Cornell University but his passion for Cricket remained the same. Hence, he had to balance both Cricket and Coding.

Now the pacer has been working for more than seven years as a Software Engineer at Oracle and coded a monumental victory for the USA team.

While he played for India U-19 at the 2010 World Cup, India lost to Pakistan where Babar Azam was one of the main parts of the team. After 14 years, Saurabh Netravalkar played a key role in defeating Babar Azam’s Pakistan at the 2024 T20 World Cup.
